Having this be my first "official" event to photograph I was a little nervous. I of cause obliged but then was asked what my fee was. I've never actually been paid for my photography up until this point but it was the Cancer Council ... I cant charge for such a valuable fundraiser so I did it for free. To tell you the truth though I may not have been paid in monetary value but what I took away from doing this event was way more than anything you could pay for. My dad was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer 18 months prior to this event and was given 6 to 12 months to live. As i write this though he is still kicking even though the first bout of chemo gave him a massive stroke so the doc canned chemo for a while and put him on a trial treatment that seemed to work... For a short time at leased until it started growing again. So round 2 of chemo and after the third dose on day 3 the chemo gave him a heart attack .. 2 stents in his heart later and three weeks of feeling like shit and back for round 3 of chemo.. What could possibly go wrong this time? Fluid started to build up on his lungs. He could not breath and was really struggling this time .. The doc sat with us and went through the whole if your heart stopped and we were able to resus you you could be a vegetable talk . After they managed to clear some fluid off his lungs I went home for the night until a phone call at 3:30am from a doctor letting me know that he has even more fluid on the lungs and their is not much they can do other than put him on a sleep ap machine to try and push the fluid into his blood. But prepare yourself for the worst.

Somehow it worked and they removed 1.6 liters off his lungs and he is able to go home. wow.

Just goes to show you just cant tell someone that they are going to die when their not ready.

Starting out https://jpwphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2019/5/starting-out I absolutely love all forms of photography.

the visual ecstasy you get from composing a photo weather it be a landscape or portrait has become my passion.

This is what I was meant to do .

I have always looked a little different at the world and just find joy in its beauty.

To be able to display what I see is the ultimate goal.

I am striving to pull the emotion from anyone that lays eyes on one of my shots .

please join me on my journey of discovery and joy.
